Strange how I've never before taken photographs of our machine room located under the guesthouse. This is the hub of many of our utilities and the location for our solar hot water tank.

This Blog is about building our new home on Whidbey Island. Our designer and builder is Brad Hankins, doing business as Design Build Brad. This small 870 sq. ft. home is made up of three buildings and incorporates sustainable building practices, including solar hot water collectors, roof water collection system and native plant restoration. Each of the three buildings are built extensively of recycled materials.
