We're moving...

Can you believe it? Yep, we just gave notice yesterday, so we're out of here in 30 days. Is our new home finished? Well, no, not entirely. However, we have the blessing of Langley's building official (after a few more items are checked off the list) so we're planning on using Ed's 18 day break from work during the holidays for moving from Luhn Avenue to Grace Lane.

We are, needless to say, very excited about actually living in our new home. The space is everything we want, and more. Once again, hat's off to Brad for an outstanding job. But also hat's off to all our family and friends near and far, together with everyone in this community, for making this event possible. From working on the project to friendship and encouragement and sidewalk supervision and sharing of neighboring roads and dinners and bouquets of flowers we have felt blessed for the support.

Because we're moving into a home that is not yet complete don't expect house warming parties just yet but stay tuned. Perhaps in the spring. In the meantime, we will be continuing to work every spare minute to finish up the remaining details, so long as we have $$. Which, due to the inflation of every building product on the face of the earth these past three years, we're in short supply. We started our building project just when consumer prices began to spike and now we're finishing up when they're beginning to come down. How's that for good timing?

Today Ed wired entry lights and smoke alarms while I covered our greenhouse walls with left over pieces of insulation. We're almost ready to add paneling inside the greenhouse so it will soon have a more finished appearance (and be warmer as well). Brad spent time on another design project and enjoyed a long, taxing bike ride. A nice weekend all in all.
