Fran & Ed work the ground
-- weeding, moving soil and backfilling
behind the foundation walls.
Ed moving soil uphill is a huffer-puffer
(Or, who needs a health club?)
Fran weeding. Our two recycled windows for

This Blog is about building our new home on Whidbey Island. Our designer and builder is Brad Hankins, doing business as Design Build Brad. This small 870 sq. ft. home is made up of three buildings and incorporates sustainable building practices, including solar hot water collectors, roof water collection system and native plant restoration. Each of the three buildings are built extensively of recycled materials.
